Schwung is a creative studio with the heart of a collector and the hands of a maker, founded by Rudi Nijssen (antiques dealer) and Dominique Sente (former goldsmith) more than a decade ago. We imagine, design, build an evolving family of desirable lighting that brings warmth and atmosphere to spaces of every kind.
We're obsessive accumulators – of objects, stories and people. Our work moves between disciplines and eras, drawing on traditional craft and unexpected/luxurious/honest materials, working hand in hand with artisans across the globe. Nothing leaves our studio until it feels right in the hand to look its best in the room you create.
We design and produce in Poland, the heart of Europe – starting with outstanding raw materials, like solid brass of the finest quality, and the best artisans for glass in every form, from mouth-blown to cast. From our signature to yours: every piece is finished by hand to our own signature standard, its patina an answer to the signature you bring to your interior.
Choosing with intention, at every level, created with conscience: almost 98% of the fixtures we make, from piece to packaging, are recyclable.
Time and resources are precious, therefore our packaging is made to ensure that the piece arrives in the best condition.
